You’ve created, marketed, and launched your new offer — congratulations! Before you take a well-deserved break, spend a little time conducting a launch debrief while everything’s still fresh in your mind.
The goal of a launch review is to calculate the success of your offer and identify which parts of the launch went well. And to decide what you want to do better next time.
Not sure what a launch review looks like? We’ve got an easy checklist for you to follow.

1 | Calculate Profit
First, let’s figure out how your new offer performed. There are many different ways to define success, and you can choose the things that are most important to you.
But the easiest way to get a basic idea of how your offer’s doing is to calculate profit.
The formula is simple — just subtract your expenses from your revenue. What’s leftover is your profit!
Before you do the calculation, make sure you’ve got accurate numbers for your expenses and revenue. Consider everything you spent on the offer and launch, and look at all your relevant income.
Then, run those numbers and see what your profit looks like!
2 | Analyze Your Metrics
Next, let’s dig deeper into the data and look beyond just the finances.
There are tons of metrics to consider when you’re evaluating your launch. Here are the ones we look at:
- Site traffic
- Clicks
- Sales page conversions
- Cart abandons
- Webinar/course attendees
- New followers
Remember to evaluate the metrics in context — the real value lies in seeing how they relate to each other.
For example, your sales conversion numbers mean a lot more if you can compare them to site traffic.
And if you realize that you had lots of visitors who didn’t end up buying, maybe it’s time to look at your sales funnel.
3 | Review Your Plan
Next, take a look back at your launch runway. Did you follow a schedule for emails, social media posts, and launch events?
Did you feel like you interacted too much or too little with your audience? Did you see a lot of engagement with certain types of content?
How did you feel during the lead-up to your launch? Did you feel like you had everything under control, or was it a mad dash to the finish line?
Identify the pros and cons of your launch, and write down what you learned. Those notes will be invaluable when you’re planning your next launch.
4 | Look at Feedback
Don’t forget about your audience! Their feedback can tell you a lot about your offer, launch plan, and sales strategy.
Look back during the pre-launch phase first. Did your audience have a lot of questions (or objections)? Can you get a sense of how excited they were about the offer?
Then, check your current feedback. How are your new customers feeling about their purchases? Are you getting a lot of great feedback or questions? What about complaints?
It’s not always fun to look through feedback, especially if there are negative elements. But every launch is a chance to learn, so keep an open mind.

5 | Consider Your Feelings
This is something that we see people gloss over all the time. How did you feel during your launch?
Did you feel stressed all the time? Stress is a pretty common feeling during a launch, but there’s a difference between normal stress levels and “I want to close up shop and run away” stress levels.
Let’s be real. Launching is stressful. But it doesn’t have to make you hate your business.
Next, ask yourself how you feel about the offer itself. Now that you’ve delivered it, how do you feel about it?
There’s no right or wrong answer — the point is to be honest with yourself so you know where you want to go with your next offer.
6 | Decide What to Improve Next Time
Now that you’ve gathered all the numbers and metrics and feedback (including your own!), it’s time to make some decisions.
What aspects of your launch were awesome? Figure out what made that happen so you can repeat it next time.
And what were the less-than-awesome parts of your launch? How would you like to change those things during your next launch?
Remember to write down all your conclusions! Trust us — it might feel like your life revolves around your launch right now, but you’ll forget these details in a few months if you don’t take notes!
Final Thoughts
Launching a new offer is something to be incredibly proud of! And you should definitely take some time during your launch debrief to celebrate all your hard work.
But every launch is also a chance to experiment and learn new things. And you can use that knowledge to make your next offer and launch even better!
